In 1966, Artesia, CO changed its name to ‘Dinosaur’ in order to take advantage of the nearby Dinosaur National
Monument. As a result, many of the streets in town have subsequently been given dinosaur names, including:
Brontosaurus Boulevard, Stegosaurus Freeway, Triceratops Terrace, Cletisaurus Circle, and Tyrannosaurus Trail.
